Good To Know
Great family place to go. They keep adding new attractions. You are allowed to feed the dolphins. Great for my "special" daughter. Everytime we go it's like a new adventure for her.
I even learned that they adopt animals from rescues and animal shelters for the Pets ahoy show. Everything was easy to get to since they have an app with an interactive map for your phone, so you don't have to carry a paper map. The app even has all the times for the shows and will tell you how to get there.
Exeter, United Kingdom
While SeaWorld Orlando is smaller than some of the other attractions in the area, I was left feeling that some of that open space and space used for shops and restaurants would be better used making some of the tanks larger. I was shocked to see two very large walruses (as big as my car) squeezed into a tiny tank. Also I'd assumed the orcas were in a relatively large tank, but apparently not. The shark exhibit was very disappointing, with many local aquariums in England having more impressive exhibits. In addition, there are lots of statements made about how SeaWorld helps to conserve wildlife, which I accept they do, but it would have been nice to know a bit more about how that's done. There was very little information, facts or scientific interpretation about the animals, and I was very disappointed that the shows included not one word about the animals on view - just professional trainers prancing around to over the top 'feel good' music.
We have been to all the SeaWorlds several times but with the changes in the whale shows it is just not the same. It now is just a lot of splashing. We were there on a Sunday and were able to attend the educational show at 11 am. There were also several rides closed which apparently is typical for January as they do maintenance.
